June 2016: Three new faculty join the department

The Department of Anthropology is pleased that three new faculty will be joining the department beginning in August, 2016. 

Dr. Sara Juengst is a bioarchaeologist with a Ph.D. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Her research focuses on Andean civilizations in South America. She has been appointed for a two-year Lecturer position.

Lydia Light is a primatologist who is completing a Ph.D. from the University of Texas - San Antonio.  Her recent research has focused on gibbons living in Thailand. She has been appointed for a two-year Lecturer position.

Dr. Andrea Freidus is an applied anthropologist with a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.  Her research focuses on medical issues and human rights in Africa.  She has been appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor.
